Anybody involved in the movement of known cargo by air has seen the tightening up of rules lately. Just look at the number of forwarders struck off the list this year.
Does this mean even more to follow. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8436758.stm. In the last month I have heard freight forwarders complaining about the job becoming impossible from a service level point of view. Not knowing which cargo will be held as to dense to x-ray and handling agents increasing their charges. One method for making cargo known has just increased their charges due to increased running costs.
It will be interesting to see what Gordon Brown's review highlights and whether more money will be invested in the department running aviation security.
